We offer non-UGhent students two options when it comes to accommodation:

Option 1: Sleep at a student’s home. These students will also be attending the congress

Option 2: Arrange your own accommodation. We can provide you with a list of possibilities.

If you chose the first option, we recommend you to bring a sleeping bag and sleeping pad. Most UGhent students live in a 5km radius from the faculty and will be able to provide you with a bike.

If you chose the second option, we can send you a list of hostels and hotels. If many people chose this option we will provide transportation to and from the faculty. If not, you will have to take care of your own transportation.

To make your stay in Ghent even more fun we organized a couple of social events throughout the weekend.

Starting off with a ESVC edition of our weekly Faculty Club event on Friday. This will be your first opportunity to taste a delicious Belgian beer and chat with fellow students in a casual setting. Snacks will be provided free of charge. Faculty Club is an after work event organized by the Vlaamse Diergeneeskundige Kring, for faculty members and last year students.

Saturday after the Pizza & Salad dinner we will be heading to Ghent for an organized pubcrawl. We are happy to show you the beauty of Ghent whilst enjoying some more delicious Belgian beers. Fun is guaranteed! But make sure not to drink our specialty beers too fast if you’re not used to them..
We don’t like it when congresses just end after the last lecture. So we made sure to have an End of Congress reception at the faculty, where you can enjoy one last beer and some snacks with your new friends!
